Job description
Short Term
Take the sourcing role on one of our new projects and secure progress according to plan with assembly and supply to customers in South Africa.
Mid to Long Term
Perspectively develop local supply base for suitable components for new products with the correct quality, lead time and cost while striving to keep inventory levels low. In the mid to long term perspective also take on the role as sourcing/strategic purchasing Manager for the PC in Springs. This includes handle relationship and negotiations of local suppliers, map the supplier landscape and have full knowledge of local spend and requirements. This task includes cooperation on a global level with other PC’s and divisional Purchasing (Global Category Managers).
Support the overall RDT Purchasing Strategy globally and locally.
Manage the local Purchasing team in Springs.
Align purchasing strategy with our product portfolio supporting both global and local products.
Cost must meet value proposition.
Ensure and develop a quality focused and cost efficient supplier base to serve our supply chain and product development to meet our targets according to our strategy and plans.
Continuously improve the supplier base for both Production Facilities, in cooperation and alignment with other functions of the PC operations, to achieve improved quality, shorter lead time, high delivery performance and reduced cost.
Develop and grow lower cost supplier base.
Secure that the supplier base fulfils the corporate governance standards, including environmental and ethical standards, of the Epiroc Group.
Safeguard good cooperation with Divisional Purchasing Team and other RDT functions
